ABOUT SHUNGA TRAILS

Entrepreneurs at Heart
As Founder and Managing Partner of Shunga Trails, Richard Kent’s notable experiences and competencies have enabled him to lead diverse teams, adapt to changing circumstances fluidly, and manage complex operations across a dispersed geography.
With an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Leadership from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Richard has been inspired to dream big — and make significant contributions — by his own father starting at a young age.
Bearing witness to the challenges of owning and managing a car dealership in Kansas, Richard grew up to share his father’s inexplicable commitment to pushing the limits to build — and share — extraordinary experiences.
Additionally, courageously surviving critical wounds sustained while serving in the U.S. Army helped him build next-level resilience in the face of a host of personal and professional hardships.
Founder / Managing Partner
During his 8 years in the U.S. Army, Richard earned the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and Expert Infantryman’s Badge. He was also the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service Medal.
Richard continues to leverage his long-term relationships, business acumen, savvy entrepreneurial mindset, and exemplary leadership skills to set him apart as a successful businessman. He most recently worked at Palantir Technologies where he was a Program Manager overseeing work with a variety of clients in the U.S. Government space.
Previously, he worked at DaVita where he managed 12 outpatient clinics and led a team of over 150 teammates as part of running a $30M P&L. Prior to that, he was an Associate at J.P. Morgan in their Investment Banking Division where he gained experience working across the entire spectrum of corporate financial transactions.
